The German navy's F124 air-defense frigates (also known as the Sachsen Class frigates) compare very favorably with the U.S. Navy Aegis cruisers and destroyers. No other warship of the western world can boast – as the F124 frigate does – three different guided missile systems which optimally translate the concept of defense-in-depth / layered defense into action.
