Atlantic Community Security Policy:
New Focal Points, From Asia to Cyberspace

The 48th Munich Security Conference (February 2012) took place just three months before the NATO Summit scheduled for May in Chicago. The MSC is always a sounding board for policies and policy proposals. This year’s conference devoted much time to discussing the impact of the new US defense strategy guidelines and budget, as well as to the perennial topic of the Middle East. In recent years Asia has played a growing role at the MSC – which had begun as a Transatlantic conference at the height of the Cold War, but is becoming an increasingly global forum for discussion of equally global issues. Not surprisingly, Europe’s role with regard to Asia was a focal topic of this year’s discussions.

Publius Quintilius Varus, Roman governor of Syria, led three legions and a host of Arab auxiliaries south. His campaign would become known as one of the greatest calamities to ever befall the Jewish people. More Information / To Order
